Sherry Wilson Butler has and continues to create, and uplift audiences & students alike on her Journey. Butler has numerous accolades and accomplishments on her list … most recent is her participation along with other members of the original Teddy Pendergrass Group in the documentary on Showtime, Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, of Pendergrass’ life story “If You Don’t Know Me.” Filmed in and around Philadelphia, Butler spoke well of Pendergrass and the experiences on and off the world wide tours and life as a performing artist and live singer. Master Vocalist and Live Singer, Sherry Wilson Butler is a well-respected veteran in the music industry, and is deep rooted in the “Philly Sound.” Artists with whom she has performed include Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Jareau, Bootsy Collins, Patti LaBelle, Gerald Veasley, Monnette Sudler, John Blake, Derrick Hodges-bassist with Terrance Blanchard, trumpeter-Duane Eubanks, Justin Faulkner-dummer with Branford Marsalis, the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, and percussionist Doc Gibbs, among others. Sherry’s performances in highly acclaimed venues include the London Palladium, NYC’s Toshi’s & Carnegie Hall-NY, LA’s Greek Theater, Academy of Music-Phila., PA, International festival circuit-Cape May, NJ. Venice-Verona, Italy, Anguilla, W.I., Germany, England, and the Eastern and Western countries of Europe.
Wilson Butler’s Professional Music Experiences & Collaborations include: over 30 years in the music industry – performing and recording with aforementioned artists in world-renowed recording, radio, stages, & television studios. Her travels include the United States, East and Western Europe, as well as 17 of the Caribbean Islands. Sherry’s work is exemplified in a diverse repertoire of upbeat contemporary Jazz, R&B, Pop and Gospel selections. A favorite on the Jazz, and R&B Festival circuit, Sherry has performed at the Cape May , West Oak Lane, Rehoboth Beach, Anguilla, West Indies Jazz festivals-numerous festivals worldwide.

Currently performing and teaching Voice – Sherry’ is, as well working on her 2nd CD looking to be completed for Spring 2025. Wilson Butler’s Voice is that of a deep resonating contralto status, yet her performances haunt her audiences with influences of Betty Carter, Diane Reeves, Phyllis Hyman, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughn. Still, unmistakably, Butler’s vocal persona stands on its own dynamic accord. Her voice has afforded her recognition as a premiere performing & recording artist/entertainer, A&R consultant, vocal teacher/coach, classroom music educator, lyricist, educational administrator, actress, commercial voice-over talent, and short story writer.
