You will get a thorough understanding and guide on to write the lyrics and create the melody with the harmony and instruments to accompany it.

Similar to my music theory classes in regards to showing you the fundaments and principles of how to read and write music. FAQ’s

  • What’s the youngest age a person should start writing songs? – A person can start writing songs as early as they desire. Most songwriters start off writing songs on regular line paper with lyrics and melody only. Then overtime they advance their songwriting to adding instruments, sheet music paper and more. I personally don’t start working with anyone for my songwriting classes until 13 years old. This is due to the maturity level that’s required to professionally write a song and understand the components of it.
  • Do you have to know how to play an instrument to be a songwriter? – No you don’t have to know how to play an instrument to become a songwriter. However, playing an instrument does advance your songwriting and helps you to become a better songwriters. The greatest songwriters of all time know how to play at least one instrument. (i.e. Smokey Robinson, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Stevie Wonder, etc.)
  • Do you have to know how to sing to become a songwriter? – No you don’t have to know how to sing to become a songwriter. However, like playing an instrument, knowing how to sing makes you a better songwriter. It helps to advance your skills and take them to the next level. (i.e. Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Mariah Carey). It also helps you translate better what you’re trying to say if you’re writing a song for another artist. It also makes it easier when recording your song demos.
  • Does it matter what genre of music I like when it comes to songwriting? – No it doesn’t. The structure and foundation to songwriting and composing are all the same for all genres of music.
  • Will I learn just as much taking virtual classes as I would taking in-person classes? – Yes, my virtual songwriting classes are just as effective and professional as my in-person classes. You will receive just as much mentorship, coaching and techniques.
